How it works: Students read the shared text together, then split into jigsaw pairs — one partner reads the 1901 press response, the other reads the Monsiváis historical analysis. The knowledge gap is real: each partner has genuinely different information. The workbook activities build from structured input (Paso 1) to communicative output (Paso 2) before partners collaborate on a counterfactual paragraph using the IDEAS framework.

On the grammar approach: The goal isn’t mastery of a complex form — it’s meaningful exposure and targeted microfeedback opportunities. The structure appears in context before it’s ever named.

On the content: This bundle includes a teacher content note on the historical use of a slur in the title of the 1901 source. The word does not appear in any adapted student text. The material is handled with care and historical seriousness throughout.
